What does community mean to us?
We think of community from an ecological perspective, recognizing that the world is fundamentally interconnected and interdependent. Our identity comes from how our community has welcomed, embraced and supported us from the very beginning, and how we can actively engage in, invest in, and support our community.
We value our relationship with the Yellow Springs and surrounding communities. Because we care about the people around us and feel they are a part of our tribe, we donate time, money and resources to support their efforts. We believe in sustaining and supporting organizations that make positive contributions to our community.
Taking it one step further, we also feel a sense of responsibility to help others in any way we can. Yellow Springs Brewery has grown out of the support and commitment of the community and we have a desire to reciprocate. We also feel that because we have the attention of so many, it is important to utilize that and we wish to set a good example by giving back.
We hold great optimism that organizations and non-profits aimed at social, cultural and environmental justice (and their interconnectedness) will result in changes that create a more just, sustainable and compassionate world.
