Let's give a warm welcome to Rick Kronk's artwork in our Taproom!
We're hosting an artist reception for Rick on Thursday, July 11th from 6 to 8pm here in our Taproom. Have a pint with the artist and purchase a new piece of local art!
Artist Statement from Rick:
"In my workshop I bring to life my heart and mind.
Paint, Print and Mixed Media document the journey of a soul forced to explore a forest of existential understanding after an event rift shatters his personal foundations. A literal stripping away of all understanding and knowledge of “self” leads to a search for purpose.
This pursuit of purpose lives in the colors, shapes and brushstrokes of work created with “Kokoro” my bear-warrior who is both tasked with and has the ability to turn injury and pain into healing and growth. Together we seek to enhance life experience through human connection and captured moments - exploring self-growth through life and art.
We capture life in abstract realism because here we are safe. These current works (created in the last month) are representative of connections made since moving to the Yellow Springs area in 2021 and comprise two groupings:
◦ Eight acrylic on canvas paintings honoring the residents of the local raptor center
◦ Five images digitally printed on maple skateboard decks themed “making babies with Travis Lewis”
This is my art, my life.
I am Rick Kronk,
This is connection!"
